Founded in 2020 by Dr. Stefan Doerr-Laukien (CEO), Lukas Teichmann (CFO), and Jannik Abbenseth (CTO), NODE Robotics specializes in developing NODE.OS, an autonomous OS platform for mobile robots. The company's core team has worked together for years at the Fraunhofer Institute for Production and Automation (IPA) in various mobile robotics applications. They found that installing software on a mobile robot shouldn't be so hard and wanted to bring ease of use from smartphone apps to mobile robots. They identified that the crucial but missing piece in the mobile robotics market is software built to integrate seamlessly into existing robotics systems and provide scalable, robust, and cutting-edge robotics skills like advanced navigation autonomy, traffic management, and task allocation. After its incorporation, the company went through various rounds of successful fundraisers, built a team of 25 robotics enthusiasts from more than 10 different nations, and started gaining traction in the market.
With over 1,000 mobile robots deployed globally across various industries, NODE Robotics has a proven track record of increasing productivity, minimizing downtime, and delivering consistent, reliable performance. Their software already runs on more than 25 different robot types, and they have driven more than 1 million kilometers so far.
