Stuttgart, Germany. NODE Robotics and INDYON have entered into a strategic partnership to jointly develop a Real-Time Location System (RTLS) product for deployment in industrial and warehousing environments.
By integrating INDYON’s Track+Race technology with NODE Robotics’ Live SLAM technology, a key component of NODE.localize, the partnership enables real-time visibility of forklift locations, improving operator awareness and accident prevention. At the same time, the solution enhances the coordination of automated and manual transport systems, allowing for more efficient fleet management and optimized material flow in intralogistics environments.
INDYON brings its expertise in real-time tracking and process optimization for forklift-based material handling, while NODE Robotics contributes its proven localization technology for precise, real-time positioning of automated transport systems. By integrating these technologies, both companies are developing a ready-to-deploy RTLS product with a broad range of applications. A pilot project synchronizing the operation of automated and manual transport assets within production and warehousing environments based on this RTLS is already underway.
The RTLS solution offers high-precision localization with an accuracy of up to 3 cm—significantly exceeding the performance of conventional RTLS technologies such as UWB or camera-based systems, which typically achieve accuracies of 50 cm or more. Despite its exceptional precision, the solution remains cost-efficient, making it ideal for applications that require exact positioning, such as asset tracking.
With this collaboration, NODE Robotics is taking the first step toward expanding its role as a provider of comprehensive automation solutions. By diversifying its product portfolio to include solutions for manual forklifts, the company is unlocking new opportunities for real-time localization in industrial processes and further strengthening its position in the intralogistics market.
Dr. Andreas Plettner, CEO & Co-Founder of INDYON stated:
“Our collaboration with NODE Robotics incorporates the latest localization technology into the Track+Race platform. INDYON and NODE are developing an advanced RTLS product at a mass market pricing point enabling our customers to speed up the adoption of advanced solutions for forklift-driven material handling processes”.
Dr. Stefan Doerr-Laukien, CEO & Co-Founder of NODE Robotics, added:
“This partnership opens a new chapter for NODE Robotics. By integrating our localization software into an RTLS solution, we are now able to serve the manual vehicle and asset tracking market with our intuitive and user-friendly software.”
Companies looking to optimize their intralogistics processes and benefit from this new RTLS product can participate in a pilot program to test the system in their production and/or warehousing environment. Interested organizations are invited to contact NODE Robotics or INDYON to explore implementation opportunities and discuss how this solution can support their automation strategy.
